The idea of building trolleybus lines in Kremenchuk appeared in the 1950s for the first time. Active works on the construction of trolleybus lines in Kremenchuk were started in 1965, and in 1966 the first trolleybus line from the river-boat station to the power station was put into operation. Nowadays, the length of trolleybus lines is 69 km. On averageKremenchuk city trolleybus lines are represented with 40 trolleybuses for 9 routes; passenger traffic flow in 2018 equaled 16,7 million people.

In 2017 within the framework of project «City public transport in Ukraine» was carried out reconstruction of contact network with the support of the European Investment Bank (EIB). Besides, the trolleybus fleet was replenished with 50 new trolleybuses under the sponsorship of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

This year PLUTON experts started cooperation with Municipal Enterprise Kremenchuk Trolleybus Department and carried out a project on modernization of traction substation TS-2, namely dismantling of outdated oil circuit breaker and its replacement for vacuum circuit breaker Evolis by Schneider Electric, as well as installation and commissioning of MV switchgear 10 kV modernization package.

Further, within the next two years, PLUTON experts carried out the supply of two MV switchgear 10 kV modernization packages, as well as installation and commissioning.

In 2021, PLUTON provided the supply of 2 retrofit packages.

Replacement of outdated equipment for the new one provided increased reliability and quality of power supply for traction substation, as well as reduction of operational costs.
