DC electric drive KPPT
DC drive KPPT is provided for:
- supply of power and auxiliary circuits of electric drive systems with electric motors;
- electric drive integrated control;
- protection, diagnostics, signaling and other service functions.
Benefits:
- starting current limitation (doesn’t exceed 1.5 value of the rated one);
- regenerative braking;
- controlled acceleration (stop), acceleration (stop) time is regulated within the limits of 0…600 s;
- short circuit current protection;
- overload protection;
- overvoltage protection and protection against voltage drop in supply network;
- protection against overvoltage in load circuit;
- limited impact on supply network;
- pusher main drive remote control via discrete and analog signals, as well as via field busbar (Modbus, Profibus DP).
As an example we consider car humping device (of a car pusher) DC drive KPPT-630-3Т, which controls motors via trolley current lead.
DC drive KPPT-630-3Т includes control cabinet SHU and control desk PU.
Depending on the particular site, equipment package can include: PLC and industrial PC based automated control system, located in control system cabinet (SHSU) or in control desk PU, car coupler control boxes, contact switches and other components.
Control cabinet SHU and control system cabinet SHSU are installed in electrical equipment room, control desk PU is installed at operator's post. Control cabinet SHU, control system cabinet SHSU and control desk PU are resistant to external influence of climatic factors, placement category 4 according to GOST 15150. Сar coupler control boxes, contact switches are installed directly along the car pusher track and are resistant to external influence of climatic factors, placement category 1 according to GOST 15150.
Control cabinet SHU consists of the following functional systems:
- power part;
- operational control, indication and signaling system units;
- cabinet internal temperature and ventilation control system.
Power part provides:
- control cabinet power supply and protection;
- conversion of network AC voltage into regulated DC voltage;
- short circuit and overload protection in load circuits.
Power part consists of separate units, located inside the control cabinet, and includes:
- input device;
- network throttle;
- reversible thyristor DC converter;
- excitation circuits and car pusher auxiliary circuits DC converter;
- overload protection units.
Control desk provides car pusher remote control. It is structurally made as a metal pedestal with opening front door and rising worktable.
Depending on execution, workstation display and keyboard are installed onto control desk. Controls are located on the worktable. Cables are led through the cable entries in pedestal bottom. Power supply, terminal blocks, relays, switching and protection equipment is installed on mounting panel inside the pedestal.
Structure of a separate control system cabinet (if available) is similar to control cabinet SHU structure.
